Natalie Grant - Held

One of the things that has brought a great amount of joy into my life, and my family's during the past couple of months has been the discovery of several musicians.
Ingrid Michaelson's upbeat, folksy tunes have burned their way into my head,
my husbands head, and even my kids heads.
JJ Heller found me late one night as I was browsing iTunes via my iPod Touch. One of her songs in particular was especially meaningful to me on that night - 'What Love Really Means' - sung of a prisoner who, finally, after many, many years, had found the humility to call upon our Savior. "Now that you're listening..." the Savior said. The message of the song pierced my heart as I, too, have loved and prayed for a prisoner, and have rejoiced as he has heard the Saviors message of unconditional love. And though there are still many, many people who are falsely accusing him of murder, and judging his family alongside him -  The Saviors message of knowing a person completely, brings peace, and hope for peace, and love.
And that brings me to Natalie Grant.
How have I missed her all of these years?
And I can't even remember how I found her but I did,
Or rather, she was shown to me as a love note from my Heavenly Father.
I've described the feeling of being held by Him
hundreds of times in my life. Maybe thousands.
And she put it into words and music in a way that only she could.
She wrote the song for a friend who had lost a baby.
But the message applies to whatever crisis life brings that causes everything to fall around us.

THIS is what it means to be
'Held'.
